Choosing Your Sixth Form Studies
We have 40+ courses for you to explore and choose from.
Choose three A-levels or equivalent.
- You can combine A-levels with vocational qualifications, including BTECs, Cambridge Technical, and Applied Diplomas. Please note that the Cambridge Technical Diplomas in Business and Sport are equivalent to two A-Levels.
- In line with advice from top universities, we do not usually enrol students in four A-levels, unless they include Maths and Further Maths.
Choose your Wider Curriculum option.
You will complete a qualification in Year 12 which you can put on your applications in Year 13. These qualifications develop study skills which are transferable to your Sixth Form studies and beyond. Choose from:
- Extended Project Qualification
- LAMDA Public Speaking
- Sports Leadership
- Young Enterprise Company Programme
Selected students, including those resitting GCSE English Language and / or Maths, will be enrolled in a Study Skills programme in place of the Wider Curriculum.
Consider how your choices will fit in with your post-18 options.
Think about what subject(s) you might want to study at university and / or what career(s) you might want to pursue and find out if they require you to study specific subjects at Sixth Form. The Prospects careers website, the Russell Group’s Informed Choices website and the UCAS course directory will all help you with this research.
Be guided by the subjects you enjoy.
This will allow you to work hard and succeed!
