Results 2023

With over 150 students in year 13 and one of the largest school sixth forms in North Herts, our students have achieved across a huge range of qualifications, obtaining some great results and moving on to some really exciting next steps at university, college and apprenticeships.

We are hugely proud of all of our students at The Knights Templar School, and would like to recognise their achievements over the last two, very challenging years. We do have some outstanding individual achievers who do deserve a special mention:
Luke Phillips who achieved A*A*A* in Maths, Computing and Psychology is going on to study Psychology at Newcastle University said "I have loved my time at Knights Templar Sixth Form. The staff were always extremely supportive and encouraging, pushing me to try my best. There were lots of ways to engage with the school community and I enjoyed joining in and trying to make a difference. I went into the Sixth Form with little idea of what I would do afterwards, but the psychology department, through their passion, and discussions during lessons, have inspired me to pursue the subject further."
Lauryn West completed 3 A-levels achieving all A*’s in Criminology, English literature and Law, she will be studying English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Warwick. Lauryn said “Since joining KTS at Sixth From - it has been a rewarding and enriching experience. I am delighted with my results.”
Mark Walker (A*AAA in Chemistry, Maths, Further maths and physics will be going onto study Chemistry at the University of Bath.
Jet Baldwin will be going to study Astrophysics at the University of Bristol, she achieved A*, A, A in A-levels in Physics, Maths, Chemistry.
Matthew Dowsett (A*AAA in Physics, Computing, Maths and Further Maths) will be going to Lancaster University to study Theoretical Physics with Mathematics. He said “I was happy and surprised with my results as some of the exams were really hard. Thank you to my teachers, who were always available to offer support, at any time of day.”
Shakirah Rashid will be studying Biochemistry at the University of Bristol, she achieved A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
Eloise Worcester will be studying Ecology and Conservation at the University of Sussex, she achieved A*AA in A-levels in Sociology, Geography, Biology. “I am delighted with my results and want to give a particular thank you to Mrs Evans who carried me through my studies.”
Jack Pinnock who graduated last summer will be taking up a place at Leicester Medical School secured in this current UCAS cycle.
Our destinations data is once again really impressive, with the many of our students going on to their first-choice university or starting some amazing apprenticeships.
Students attending our partner performing arts school in Hitchin, Emil Dale Academy, are also celebrating with destinations including some of the top musical theatre schools in the country.

Supported by their parents, carers and our dedicated teachers, students in this year group have shown enormous resilience in the face of such challenging times. The Knights Templar School continues to develop well rounded young people, prepared for the world beyond school. Congratulations to all our students and we wish them every success for the future.”

“As a Sixth Form team we continue to be so proud of the hard work of both our teaching staff and students in battling an educational climate of continued change, to produce such solid results. Our students are now looking towards the next stage of their education and careers, ranging from advanced apprenticeships to employment, further study at university. A sizeable percentage of students have earned places at Russell Group and Top 30 institutions. We are proud of our strong tradition of impressive exam results at The Knights Templar Sixth Form but place equal value in the vast range of extra-curricular opportunities that we provide to help create well-rounded young people. We have no doubt that the KTS Sixth Form Class of 2023 will continue to achieve well on their post-18 journey. Well done to all.”

Our high standards of attainment and achievement have been maintained, with a high proportion of our students achieving the very highest grades. We are hugely proud of all of our students at The Knights Templar School, and would like to recognise their achievements over the last two, very challenging years. We would also like to celebrate the effort of the following students who have made excellent progress since completing their GCSEs: Denholm Bruce, Freya Marshall, Aimee Anderson, Christopher Parry, Taranpreet Kandola, Jemima Gayfer-Toms, Daniel Norman, Phoebe Bourke, Jaime-Kay Body, Toby Richards, Eleanor Conn, Jack Pinnock, Nijam Uddin, Taylor Gentle, Sienna Kelly.
Kira Oestreicher who achieved A*A*A*in Maths, Biology and Chemistry is going on to study Veterinary Medicine at Bristol said “I feel incredibly proud and privileged to have spent the last 2 years in the KTS sixth form. The support and care I have received from so many members of staff has been phenomenal, they have guided me through all the challenges. I hope every student realises how lucky they are to be at this school!”
Odumade Anuoluwapo completed 4 A-levels achieving 3A* grades and an A in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Psychology, she is going on to study Computer Science at Loughborough.
Also completing 4 A-levels, Luke Bungay achieved 2A* and 2 A grades in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Geography, he is going to the University of Bath to study Civil Engineering.
Freya Hazelwood achieved A*A*A in Theatre Studies, Media and English Literature and is going on to study English at Nottingham.
Mia Raso, one of our Senior Prefects had moved to us from a local school for A-levels and achieved A*AA in Maths, Chemistry and Biology. On receiving her results, she commented “Coming to Knights Templar Sixth Form from a different school in the middle of a pandemic, I was so worried about fitting in. After becoming Head Prefect, surviving many isolations, and making friends for life, I can say that I could not have been more proved wrong. There is so much support available from teachers and not just through subjects - the community feel at this school is unmatched.”

Results 2019
Our Sixth Form students sat exams in a wide range A Levels and Vocational courses (BTECs) this year and received a well-deserved set of results. Over a third of students (37%) achieved 1 or more of the highest A*/A grades at A Level and 73% of results were C grade or higher. Many students excelled themselves and exceeded our expectations.
